As we met more owners who felt the same way, we exchanged contact information and began to talk with one another. The SNHA never provided us with a way to collaborate. Their emails implied all of the owners supported them. We felt isolated until we began to communicate with one another. Ultimately, one by one, we came together. Owners from Commons, Hakone, Liftside, Mountainview, Nordland, Poolside, Riverside, Slopeside, Sterling and Trailside Executives all joined in. After months of dialogue we decided to do something about our situation and so we formed OACS. We don’t want to argue with the SNHA any longer. We simply want to build our vehicle to cooperate together as owners and work constructively with the Resort. The Council members represent a cross-section of sectors and include individuals with experience in business, marketing, law, economics, and financial services. Our unique insights will provide guidance on both strategic and operational concerns to the Resort. No subject is off limits to the Council, however it will be at all times an exchange of ideas and we will not tolerate any disparagement. This rule is not meant to excluded opinion and facts provided for a positive purpose. A private forum is available to members in which to share our ideas. |

Over the course of the winter and spring 2009, we as individual owners discovered that we were not alone. We found that others like ourselves had not paid the SNHA $600 special assessment; that many of us had requested an explanation of the fees but got none. We found that other owners had not paid the SNHA dues and even had resigned from the Association as early as the fall 2008 because they did not believe in the direction set by the Board. We found that our concerns voiced to the Board were all dismissed.
